Great - more proof that I really need to get a life.

I'd say the same but during the 35 mos. that I've been here I've also been racking up over 5000 posts at Deadhook.

funny, since I had similar thoughts after posting and was adding-up what I have posted on other sites...though I don't have 5000 on any other site...

by looking at my posting list via downthemall I see that my posts number +/-890, so I was close.

I easily would have made it if I had hit "submit post" on the 100 plus posts that I write only to realize: why get involved; why escalate; or why fight to change closed minds.

btw: must be fun to be in philly this fall...the only downside is that harry kalas didn't live to see another one...

"why get involved; why escalate; or why fight to change closed minds."

Ha! I'd be hovering at about 10 posts or so if I gave it enough thought along these lines!

that made me laugh...don't know why I don't carry the smart-ass flag as high on the net as I do off...

on a side non-dead note, I can't stop watching these German newsreels: http://www.archive.org/search.php?query=subject%3A%22German%20Newsreel%22

http://www.wochenschau-archiv.de/

Outside of the amazing footage, it is really interesting how the content changes through the years. Going from all military action to full episodes trying to instill the feeling that everything is A-OK on the home front.

I thought I knew the period well but the films have me running into many unknowns. For example, the coverage of Operation Jubilee (the raid on Dieppe) was eye-opening to say the least.

watching the axis games and other axis events are a hoot.

the only negative is that I am spending so much time with them that I am dreaming in German.
